Frvade's Puzzle

Thursday, September 29th 2005 · ·

I recently stumbled across frvade.com, and I'm almost wishing I hadn't. It's a series of increasingly difficult puzzles that are very different from anything I've seen before. It's inventive, addictive, and maddeningly frustrating, not to mention a serious time sink.

I got badly caught on level seven, but from there on half have been relatively easy and half have been very difficult. Ten and sixteen were rough. I'm now on level twenty and am trying desperately not to put too much time into it.

This is extremely cool. Those of us who are being punished for past sins by the Fates with mind-numbing underemployment can use this site to keep our little grey cells from turning putrid green from disuse.

Someday, my penance will come to an end and I will get a real job, but until then this little collection of conundrums will give me a bit of exercise.

Thank you!

Up to 23 now. The teens aren't bad, but 20 and 21 are rough.

The beauty of these things is that they can take you forever, but you eventually get them. Here's my take. Note that I marked some of the early ones hard because you have to use certain methods for the first time - once you know how to do stuff that way, it becomes easier.

1- First level (very easy)
2- Teeth level (very easy)
3- Dominos level (moderate)
4- Drill level (moderate)
5- Blade level (easy)
6- Lost Temple level (very easy)
7- Chef Blade level (hard)
8- Obvious level (very easy)
9- Shakespeare level (moderate)
10- Chicago level (hard)
11- Hitler level (moderate)
12- Planet level (moderate)
13- Street Sign level (easy)
14- Bush Family Tree level (easy)
15- Monopoly level (easy)
16- 100 Dollar bill level (hard)
17- Nuke level (moderate)
18- 420 level (moderate/hard)
19- Elements level (moderate)
20- Beatles level (hard)
21- UFC level (very hard)
22- Oriole level (moderate)
23- Math level (hard)
24- Grocery Store level (hard)
25- Lime level (moderate)
26- Dictionary Level (moderate)
27- Crop Circle Level (?)

Frvade's forums have some good help. For that one, -I help the blind to read- is a pretty good hint. You'll have to use Google. Good luck. :-)

I know the URL for level 6. I found it by accident. I just want to know what the reasoning behind it is. Why is the answer what it is?
