Knife of Dreams

October 10, 2005 -

Knife of DreamsAfter having read in numerous blogs that people had already purchased and finished reading Knife of Dreams at regular bookstores, despite the fact that the publisher's release date is tomorrow, I spent my lunch hour today hunting for the book. To no avail.

I did however pick up a copy of Woken Furies by Richard K. Morgan, another Takeshi Kovacs book. The first book is that series was some of the best sci-fi I've ever read, although the second was just okay. I'm now setting this third volume atop my stack of twenty-something books in my to-read queue and hoping that it's up to par.

Word in the blogosphere is that stuff actually happens in Knife of Dreams (book 11), unlike books 8 and 10, which were both comparatively boring. Therefore, I'm excited to read it - it's supposed to be the second-to-last volume in Robert Jordan's epic. I am surprised that the book isn't in Technorati's Top 30 most blogged books - you'd think it would be more popular than Charlie and The Chocolate Factory or First Aid for the Medicine Clerkship.

Hi! I just finished reading Knife of Dreams, and I will attest to the fact that yes, stuff actually happens. In fact, so much happens that some long-running plots even get resolved.

Word is that KoD is the penultimate book, so I guess RJ has to clear up some of his mess and focus on Taimon Gaidon in the final volume.

Hope you find it soon.

Cheers
