Microsoft Versus Apple. Ready? Fight!

July 13, 2006 -

A bit of breaking tech news - looks like Microsoft is gearing up to take on Apple in the mp3 player market. Their new mp3 player, code named Argo, hasn't been officially announced or even granted a final name yet. Longhorn became Vista, Revolution became Wii, what will Argo become?

From what I hear, the Argo is supposedly going to use the Urge music service the same way that iPods use the iTunes service. I can only hope that Urge doesn't have crazy DRM. Probably too much to hope.

Too much to hope for. I believe the final project will be called "Zune." (engadget.com) Because that's a catchy name. iPod versus Zune. Zune plus Urge equals music. I've got the Urge to Zune.

Anyway, Microsoft has that crazy Windows Media DRM that's incredibly restrictive as compared to iTunes DRM.

Oh well...
