53 CSS Techniques You Couldn't Live Without

March 2, 2007 - -

It's not too often I make a post here completely about another blog entry. But this one to me to just too good to pass up. Smashing Magazine has a list of 53 CSS Techniques, and it's excellent.

Many of these are techniques I've used before, and many others are ones I've seen and read about but never used. I'm extremely proud of the work I did in early 2006 on my web design site. That site is designed much better than this one in many ways. I used PHP classes to structure the blog, and I've got a really style switcher I wrote myself. I've recently been looking to redo this site completely, or at least write a new stylesheet, but I've had a number of false starts.

I've decided that if I do redo things, I'd really like to use #8 - CSS Shadows, #9 - CSS Rounded Corners, and #23 - PHP Based CSS Style Switcher. The shadows are just a neat effect, and the style switcher is just slightly better than what I use on my design site, but those rounded corners with no images make me drool. I'm such a geek.
