Wii downloads to include original content

May 3, 2007 -

Impossible MissionWell, semi-original at least. Sure, it's still retro, but the remake of Impossible Mission is not a virtual console game, it's a true remake. And best of all, it's a Commodore 64 game!

I can think of dozens of other C64 games I'd love to play on the Wii. If Nintendo taps into the C64 game library, it's got a goldmine. The various James Bond games, Mail Order Monsters, Aztec Challenge, Maniac Mansion, Skate or Die!, and dare I hope for my G.I. Joe remake? The list goes on almost forever.

With this news, we Wii owners can now hope to get the same excellent content that XBLA users have been enjoying for quite a while. By that, I mean games like Carcassonne, Puzzle Quest, Settlers of Catan, and Geometry Wars. I'd love to see any of those on my Wii. Unlikely, but I can hope.

You are the best candidate for Gametap that I have ever known. Since you dig all those older games. It's so cool that they are going to have Tomb Raider: Anniversary the same time it comes out in stores. I've had it for about 4 months and always find interesting games to play. The neighbors enjoyed playing Oregon Trail again.
