The copyright abuse gets more and more ridiculous. DE Technologies is suing Dell for copyright violation. DE Technologies holds a petent on... get this... All international transactions handled over the computer. If this is allowed, patents will become less a means for protecting creative property and more a means for litigious domination and extortion. Read it and weep.

Allowed? It's mandated by "natural" law.

Virtually all organisms become unwilling hosts to parasites, and societies are no different. The reason many of us are down on lawyers is because the thought of millions of the most intelligent members of society engaged in some of the least productive pursuits possible – useless litigation – is offensive to us. With all the knowledge, brain power and education available to us, it seems somehow obscene that these resources are used for nothing more than filing lawsuits in an attempt to shore up someone’s bottom line.

Take, as an example, SCO and their never-ending attempts to use the legal system to generate revenue. They don’t need to sell a product or service as long as they are allowed to steal money from competitors, or break other companies by forcing them to spend millions on lawyers that would be better spent on goods and services.

Look at any government – they extort money from citizens by saying simply, “You owe this money to the State for no other reason than because the State says so. The State then takes the money without due process. That’s where this is all headed – corporations that expect to get paid for doing absolutely nothing except suing other corporations.

The lawyers always win and everything is always all about the money. That’s the answer to your question, I guess.
