For those of you who haven't heard, I've been working my ass off on a new site: Lungfishopolis.com. It's still unfinished, but I'm hoping to have Lungfishopolis.com ready to launch by the end of the week. I used to write a lot about video games on this site until I realized that most of the people who read and comment here just aren't into them. So I'm offloading all my video game discussion to a specifically video game themed site.

I've finally got a header in place that I'm happy with, although the headers will be somewhat randomized when the site's complete. And I managed to con Brandon into co-authoring the site with me. Still don't know why he agreed, but he's a far better writer than I am, so I'm glad to have him aboard. So what's left on my to-do list? Let's see.

So these are the things I'm hoping to get done this week. Then I get to start writing up more articles for Lungfishopolis. I want the site to be different. There are a million review sites out there - I'm not interested in writing game reviews. I'm also not interested in competing with Destructoid, Kotaku and Joystiq for breaking game industry news. I want to write about game stuff that I find fun and interesting, and inject as much humor as possible. I've been taking notes from Lore Sjoberg, who's a great writer.

Wish me luck.

Progress: Got the Home and About links. Trying a footer, but I don't like it. Can't photoshop the author images until my authors send me Miis. Still unhappy with the 404 page. Still have to fix code in the Upcoming Games module.

Crap! I forgot to take the Mii picture. I'll do it tonight, I swear.

vis-a-vis 401 pages, check out Jim's. Son Alex put it up around 10 years ago. Keep in mind that the guy writes SF for a living.

That's one of the best 404 pages I've ever seen. Right up there with HomestarRunner.com's 404 page.
