Books, books, books

July 14, 2011 -

I've been doing a lot of reading recently. That's most likely because recently I've been into a number of really good books. I just finished The 4400: Promises Broken, which is the apparent conclusion to the television series that was cancelled in 2007. I've got quite a lot to say about that book, but I've placed it all in the book review which you can read here. If you've read the book or are into The 4400 half as much as I am, I'd welcome the discussion.

I'm currently reading George R.R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons, which just came out on Tuesday. I'm not very far into the book, but I've got a good feeling about it.

There are a couple other books coming out soon that I'm really looking forward to. First is Ghost Story by Jim Butcher, which comes out on July 26th. I'm not sure if I'l be finished with A Dance with Dragons by then, but I immediately before The 4400: Promises Broken, I finished reading Changes, and the book was absolutely amazing. I've since been reading chapters of Ghost Story as they're released on Jim Butcher's website. The Dresden Files is possibly my favorite series of books right now.

The other book coming out this year that I'll be snatching up on release day is Inheritance, the final book in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle. It comes out on November 8th. 2011 is turning out to be a good year for books. Now I can only hope that A Memory of Light is actually released in 2012.

I also just started reading A Dance With Dragons, I have not been able to put it down.

I am not nearly as excited for Inheritance as I was for Brisingr. I felt the third book was good, but a bit of a letdown.
