Fictitious Organizations Quiz

June 25, 2012 -

Okay, it's been a while since I've posted one of these quizzes on my blog here. Here's a list of fictitious corporations, organizations, and other groups. See if you recognize them and what they're from. Have fun!

  1. Massive Dynamic
  2. Foundation for Law and Government
  3. Initech
  4. Encom
  5. Weyland-Yutani Corp
  6. The Knights of Good
  7. The Evil League of Evil
  8. The Order of the Blackened Denarius
  9. Brotherhood of Seven
  10. National Threat Assessment Command

...and as tempted as I was, I didn't include The Iris Network from Beyond Good and Evil.

1. Fringe. I just started watching this show, so it's fresh on my mind.
2. Knight Rider. I don't think I've ever technically STOPPED watching this show; I watched an episode last week.
3. Bah. I should know this.
4. Ditto. Though "Incom" is the company that makes X-Wing fighters in Star Wars.
5. Alien(s).
I'll plead ignorance on the rest, though I'm sure number 7 is from a cartoon I've seen.

ANSWERS

1. Fringe. Kris got it. Love this show.
2. Knight Rider. Kris again.
3. Office Space indeed. Josh has it.
4. Encom is the company from Tron.
5. Alien. Having just seen Prometheus helps here. Kris got this one.
6. Does nobody watch The Guild? Such a good web show.
7. Surgo got this one - Dr. Horrible's sing-along blog. Another web show (at least initially - I have the DVD)
8. The Order of the Blackened Denarius was a tough one. It's my favorite villainous group from The Dresden Files.
9. The Brotherhood of Seven is from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which I never actually watched.
10. NTAC was the main government organization in The 4400.

Holy minor entity, batman! The Brotherhood of Seven was a thoroughly forgettable group, who were barely even mentioned in the one episode one of them appeared in (good ep, though).

Surgo-
That was my token show-I-haven't-watched entry. I pulled it from a Buffy wiki and hoped it wasn't too obscure.

It was too obscure.

Well, I feel partially vindicated, as I've only seen the first three episodes of Buffy, I never watched The 4400 and I bailed on The Dresden Files after the second or third book.

I definitely should have gotten The Evil League of Evil and Encom, having seen the source material multiple times in both cases. I only saw Office Space once, forever ago, so I'm forgiving myself for missing Initech.
