I've been an avid reader of fantasy and sci-fi books since I can remember - reading C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia, Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and the book that really dragged me into it all - Terry Brooks's Elfstones of Shannara, which I read when I was 14. I still read a lot, and I've taken to posting reviews of the books here. Enjoy.
Blood Rites, by Jim Butcher
The sixth book in The Dresden Files series is somehow even better than the immediately preceding books. It's also one of the only books I've ever read that made me laugh out loud.
If it isn't immediately clear, I loved this book from page one, which began with "The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault.". This book continues to detail the war between the wizards' White Council and the Red and Black Courts of the vampire world. In addition, Harry has to solve a mystery involving a series of murders on the set of a porn film.
