And They Complain About Spongebob??

January 25, 2005 -

If by some miracle you haven't heard about the recent outrage amongst conservative Christians over Spongebob Squarepants and his proported agenda of gay acceptance, you may have had your head buried in the sand.

But a quick look over the shoulder chronologically reveals that an American cartoon icon, Bugs Bunny, does quite a bit more than holding hands with his friend. RobotJohnny has written up a great article about the subject, along with many photo excerpts from Loony Tunes lore. Worth a read.

Well! I never . . . !

:-)

I guess it's a change from picking on those poor Teletubbies.

Still, as the largest, richest cult in the country, if not the world, this sort of thing is hardly surprising.

I continue to be troubled by the proposed Constitutional amendments being pushed by people who clearly do not understand the purpose of the U.S. Constitution.

I always thought our Constitution was written to limit the powers of the federal government, not to abridge the rights of U.S. citizens. I could be wrong about that, I guess. :-)
