Friday Music

August 5, 2005 -

Okay, for this mp3 post, I'm taking a slightly different route. I've discovered how to create m3u playlists in notepad, which means you can just click here to listen to all five tracks. Of course, I've still got to give credit and linkage to the blogs where I found the tracks.

The first song is from The Killers. I found them over at Berkeley Place's Best of 2004 post. I've had Somebody Told Me stuck in my head for about two weeks. Great tune. The other one is what's called a mash up, incorporating Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and The Killers. Catchy.

Next on the list is a tune I found from good old TMBG over at Copy, Right?. (Great site specializing in covers, BTW) They've covered a Lesley Gore song - Maybe I know. Not bad.

After all those, Sondre Lerche's Track You Down is pretty mellow. Starts with quiet acoustic guitar, and picks up. Nice. Found it over at Mocking Music. Also at Mocking music is some music by the Jimmy Swift Band. I've added Two Hands on the Wheel to the playlist, but the other two songs are worth checking out as well.

Lastly, I found XTC's Dear God at a blog called Kill All Artists. I've always liked XTC, and this tune isn't on Nonsuch, which is the only album of theirs I've got.
