GameGeek Challenge

October 18, 2006 - -

Well, I've dropped the title Name of the Game in favor of The GameGeek Challenge, which I think is more apropos. BostonGeek Episode 52 is out today, and my segment begins at 28:45.

If you caught my initial segment last week, let me go ahead and expound on the the answers which won some lucky soul a copy of Micro Machines v4.

Fallout 2The first clip began with "War never changes". That is a clip from Fallout. I'm actually replaying Fallout 2 right now. I should probably add that to my game sidebar. Anyway, the Fallout series is great. I even loved Fallout Tactics. Although it didn't have quite the story structure of the first two, its mission-based gameplay worked out great, and the addition of crouching and crawling mechanics really made the sneak skill valuable.

The second clip was from the intro movie of Beyond Good and Evil, which I've written about incessantly on my site. I got to watch this same movie recently when I installed the game on the PC I'm sending to my brother.

The final clip was from Silent Hill 2, which I've never actually played.

Listen to this week's segment and let me know what you think. I've already got some good clips in mind for the future, and I'm beginning to suspect that the ones I'm using are too hard. No giveaway this time, so feel free to post your guesses here.

I don't know #1 or #2 (could it be Syberia, which I've never finished?), but I am positive that #3 is Deus Ex, which is one of my personal favorites.
