Posters

August 11, 2007 -

postersI finally got the posters I ordered for my office up this weekend. Cheap movie poster frames are actually pretty damn expensive. I hadn't planned on paying over $100 for two cheap frames, but oh well.

I'd been waffling about which posters to get for a long time. Which movies would be the best geek movies, and which ones were best suited to my personal tastes?

I got a Clash of the Titans poster, a Big Trouble in Little China poster, and a small Breakfast Club poster. Sort of an 80s motif. Clash of the Titans is just classic, plus I have fond memories of watching it with Linda at her place in Weehawken while we were still dating. Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorites, and it's cheezy as all hell, which is a big plus. I'm sure if Linda were picking, we'd have had a Zoolander poster. Lastly, the Breakfast Club poster. That's just about the penultimate eighties movie, and nobody's going to claim that it's not a great flick.

What three movie posters would you choose for your personal geek domain?

My room is already one giant geek domain. Mostly comic book and movies posters. A few anime wall scrolls to really spruce the place up, makes it look classy.

Excellent choices there! Once I have an official office to myself again, I would like to have posters for Aliens, Army of Darkness and Mallrats. If I could cheat and have a fourth it would be Ergo Proxy, an excellent Japanese anime.

Ok, you said movie posters so I'll skip the requisite Wing Commander IV framed poster, Gunslinger Girl wall scroll and Death (from Comics) poster that I like.
If I could pick any three they would be:
1. Blade Runner (Favorite Movie)
2. Akira (Great looking poster)
3. Henry V (Inspiring)

P.S. Lain Amber Nelson was born on 8/12 at 5:35. She was 7 1/2 lbs. and 20.5 inches.

My choices would be:
1.) Life of Brian (Probably the best Monty Python ever)
2.) 2001 Space odyssey (The one with the fetus in the background. Really freaky)
3.) The Truman Show (Although I don't like Jim Carrey that much, i love how they build the picture from the movie-stills.)
