The Music of 2025

January 2, 2026 -

I've started listening to a few new bands over the course of the year. For no reason in particular, I feel compelled to list them out here.

Paramore - Apparently, they became popular along with that 2008 sparkly vampire movie, but I never got into those. Still, I've been digging the music this year.

Toto - I've often referenced Jellyfish's album Bellybutton as being the only album where every single track is good, but honestly, Toto IV earns that accolade as well - every song on the album is fantastic. Add in bangers from their other albums, songs like Pamela, 99, and Make Believe, and I've got a killer Toto playlist.

Ghost - It was my old internet friend Brandon on the Divided by Werewolves podcast that turned me onto Ghost. The band has a Satanic motif that doesn't particularly speak to me, but their music is great.

Radiohead - Call me late to the party, but I'd never really listened to Radiohead until this year. I've been jamming out to Paranoid Android, Everything In Its Right Place, and Subterranean Homesick Alien.

Honorable Mention: Clapton's The Core - Seriously, how have I never heard this song before now? The Core is such a killer tune, with a riff that will stick in your head for days.
