Five Things

July 24, 2006 -

Apparently, there's some weird viruslike chainmail thingy circulating on blogs. I caught it from Brandon, and so I am apparently compelled to pass it on to one or more others. Who to tag? Eric? Marsha? You are both it.

So I'm supposed to answer the following questions, and then those I've tagged are supposed to do likewise, although you don't have to be as linky as I am here. Here goes...

Five things in my purse/wallet

  1. A $50 Gift Card to Restaurant Bricco that Linda and I will use when we visit Connecticut.
  2. Two Dollars in cash. Very typical for me.
  3. Receipt for my passport, which I got for our upcoming trip to France. I'm a little bit worried.
  4. A silver-colored player card for Lazertron, the laser tag game that used to exist at Skooters in Bristol, CT. I worked there in College and ran a Lazertron league. The card I have was filled out by my friend Glenn Hydock, and reads "Moose Breath". Not sure why I still have it.
  5. A business card from a web design business that never took off.

Five things in my refrigerator

  1. Two pieces of homemade cheesecake that my stepbrother Brent baked when he came down from Denver this weekend for our barbeque.
  2. Three cases of beer leftover from the barbeque. Sadly, Linda and I don't drink beer.
  3. Jagermeister. Actually, that's in the freezer.
  4. Really good chocolate milk.
  5. Linda's homemade pizza. Mmmmmm...

Five things in my closet

  1. A whole lot of Al Paca hair that Linda intends to spin into yarn.
  2. A sweatshirt from SH Smith & Co., where I worked briefly.
  3. A fully functional Commodore 64, along with 1541 disk drive.
  4. Assorted D&D books.
  5. A cool-looking hat that I haven't worn since my wedding.

Five things in my car

  1. The casette adapter that I use to plug my mp3 player into my car's casette player so I can listen to podcasts every day on my hour commute to work.
  2. A parking sticker from the Colt Building in Hartford, where I used to live.
  3. A blue frisbee with a picture of a cow on it. I once used it to shovel my car out of the snow.
  4. A pair of RayBan sunglasses that I bought on EBay for $20.
  5. A VW Jetta backseat drivers manual that I found in this month's Wired magazine.

And there ya go.

I'm so glad amongst the 5 things in your fridge there weren't any items left from our visit in Feb. About the beer, its really too bad Sean doesn't live closer. He's really good at taking care of left over party beer. I speak from much experience. Your mom & I are sitting by the pool (drinking one ofthe beers Sean didn't take care of). I'm also using our new note book by the pool. How cool is that.

Actually Paul, there are a couple 2-liter bottles of A+W left from your visit. :)

Hi Greg, I found you through Suburban Joe...liked your five things list. The hat is indeed cool, and I love the idea of a backseat driver's handbook. You should put excerpts on your blog...:)

Why post in on my blog when I can post it on yours, and maybe start a wave? :)

5 Things in my wallet:
- 3 single dollar bills (also typical for me)
- Driver's License
- A valid BJ's Wholesale Club Card (and yet, I never, EVER shop there)
- Debit Card (sees more use than I'd like sometimes)
- One signed check for $5000 awaiting deposit

5 Things in my fridge:
- Half-gallon of Hood 2% milk
- One can of Guiness Draught
- Leftover Thai food from Friday
- Large jar of pepperoncini
- half-dozen eggs

5 Things in my closet:
- A nearly-new, barely used 19" LCD that I am not sure what I am ever going to do with
- A swordbelt and scabbard
- 500 poker chips of varying colors
- 2 Sonicwall Firewalls
- 3 Routers

5 Things in my car:
- Fleece blanket in the trunk
- iPod charger/FM transmitter
- Dust cloth to periodically wipe down my car's interior (yes, I am that anal about my car)
- Toolbox with various English sockets for my socket wrench (Interesting, as my car requires METRIC sockets)
- Little wrench thingie to manually open the sunroof, should the motor ever fail (personally, I would just take it in to be repaired)

That's just a few of the crazy things in my life. :)
